Nairobi- 31st October, 2011 As the principal agency in investment promotion in Kenya, Kenya Investment Authority (KenInvest) last week received ISO 9001:2008 certification for its Quality Management Systems from KEBS. This certification clearly demonstrates KenInvest’s commitment to meeting international best practice in Investment Promotion and customer satisfaction through provision of quality services. KenInvest embarked into this process in September, 2010 and completed in September 2011. The Certification has placed KenInvest in the league of Kenyan organisations that have embraced International standards in Customer Service Delivery. This process was steered by an In-House Team under the leadership of an appointed Management Representative and awareness trainings to all staff including those in our Regional Offices in Kisumu, Eldoret and Mombasa.
KenInvest Chairman, Dr Mwangi Ngumo said the ISO standards will enable the KenInvest to benchmark its services and operations to international best practice.
“As we celebrate the Certification of KenInvest as ISO 9001:2000 compliant, we are boldly saying to the investors, our customers and stakeholders that we have an obligation to give them quality service at all levels,” said the Chairman.
Mr. Julius Korir, Ag. Managing Director said achieving this certification is a great milestone for KenInvest.
“Investors want to be confident that they are doing business with an organization that can meet or exceed their needs in a timely manner. We are devoted to continually improve our quality management system and we are conscious that the hard part starts now because what has been achieved needs to be maintained and sustained through continuous improvement.”
