KenInvest's 100 days Rapid Results Initative Program Begins
KenInvest has embarked on the implementation of the 1st Wave of its Rapid Results Initiative Program. Spearheaded by the Office of the Prime Minister- Public Service Transformation Department as part of a wider public sector reforms program aimed at enhancing public service delivery, the results based management tool is aimed at fast- tracking the implementation of the new Constitution and delivery of the Kenya Vision 2030 as well as achieving short-term goals set to be accomplished with 100 days.
KenInvest started the 100 Rapid Results Initiative on 1st November, 2011 at its Headquarters. The targets drawn out in the RRI program were picked from the KenInvest’s performance contract for the Financial Year 2011/12 which will be achieved within the set timeline. The issues within the KenInvest RRI programme include:
• Internal
o Reducing the turnaround time in procurement
o Disposal of ideal assets
o Implementation of Performance Appraisal System (PAS)
o Reducing time taken to process payments, payroll and payment of suppliers
o Compliance with ISO requirements.
• External
o Improvement of Investor climate
o Creation of awareness on investment opportunities in Kenya
o Modernization of handling of enquiries and registry system
o Digital one stop shop ( DOSS)
The RBM tool is extremely robust and versatile and has been proven to lead to improved performance in service delivery, skills and confidence building in the ability to achieve results, as well as enhancing creativity.
